Nov. 7th, 2005 -- Considering everything Six Flags has been through in 2005, the company's results for the first nine months of the year have been very good. Six Flags reported a 9.5 percent increase in revenue compared to the first nine months of 2004 and a 5.6 percent increase in attendance.
The report also included results for the company's third quarter, which ended Sept. 30. Over that period revenue went up 9.8 percent and attendance rose by 4 percent.
The news came amid reports that Cedar Fair was becoming more involved in potentially buying all or part of Six Flags. Cedar Fair C.E.O. Richard Kinzel said that the company would make an announcement regarding Six Flags within 60 to 90 days. Kinzel refused to comment on an ongoing rumor that Paramount Parks is up for sale and that Cedar Fair would be interested.
