Anscheinend plant Six Flags den ersten Park in China im Kreis Haiyan, südlich von Shanghai, in der Provinz Zhejiang.
Yesterday afternoon, the Riverside and Six Flags signed cooperation agreements with governments of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City and Haiyan County respectively in Hangzhou. In accordance with the agreements, American Six Flags Group is to build the Six Flags Theme Park, its first theme park to be settled in Asia after its several decades’ development in North America. Meanwhile Six Flags will jointly establish with the Riverside, its exclusive cooperation partner in China, Riverside Six Flags International Holiday Resort in Haiyan.
At the signing ceremony, governments of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City and Haiyan County respectively signed cooperation frameworks with the Riverside and Six Flags Group with a view to constructing in Haiyan an international resort with amusement as its core and seaside recreation as its characteristics, integrating functions of sightseeing, culture, outing, regimen, shopping, education etc.
Following Disney settling in Shanghai and Universal International Studios in Beijing, Six Flags Theme Park’s settling in Haiyan marks the top three theme parks in the world all have invested in China. According to John Odum, the president of Six Flags, “Six Flags Theme Park will bring new experience to Chinese consumers they have never had before and will become the pacesetter of the development of China’s theme parks.”
It is learned that the investment of this international resort is expected to be over 30 billion yuan, create 30,000 jobs, and attract 12 million visits a year, propel local economic and social development and help to upgrade and transform local culture and tourism industry.
Ground was officially broken today on the 30 billion yuan (USD $4.6 billion) real estate development that is to include the first Six Flags park in China, Six Flags Haiyan.
The resort that includes Six Flags Haiyan was the biggest of 11 major projects that broke ground in Zhejiang projects, and because of its unique nature as the only large-scale integration cultural tourism project garnered a significant amount of attention. It is expected to create over 100,000 jobs and attract over 12 million visitors per year.
The first piece of the development will be the new 234 million yuan (USD $36 million) exhibition center which will cover over 3800 acres and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2016. The Six Flags theme park is expected to open in 2019.
