Powers Great American Midways is one of the most highly respected carnival companies in the industry. Since 1980 they have traveled exclusively on the east coast of the United States. They have successfully secured many impressive locations performing at major state fairs, county fairs, festivals, and other celebrations.
Powers Great American Midways takes great pride in it's safety, cleanliness and the over all appearance of their rides, food concessions and games. Each employee is responsible for wearing a logo designed shirt and name tag which is obtained only after passing a drug test and background check. Drug tests are performed randomly throughout the season to maintain the strictest of standards. PGAM has a non-smoking policy for their employees on all of their midways. The show has been honored with the OABA "Circle of Excellence" award as well as the Pennsylvania Safety Award and a North Carolina Safety Award.
Along with a full staff of trained ride operators PGAM has computer specialists, expert fabricators, welders, electricians, certified inspectors recognized nationally by NAARSO as well as in the state of Pennsylvania.
Shaded areas with seating and lit rest areas are in place to make a customers visit one of security, and comfort. Many families take advantage of this wonderful convenience. We offer much more that can be seen on our Amenities page.
Food concessions are inspected weekly and maintained at the highest level of cleanliness. They are decorated with beautiful landscaping to enhance the customers experience, cleaning our midways every night.
In its fifth generation the Powers family has emerged as one of the fastest growing and highly respected carnival families in the industry.
This season, Powers Great American Midways celebrates more than 37th years performing at major state and county fairs in the eastern United States. Powers Great American Midways was first incorporated as Amusements of Rochester, Inc. from Rochester, New York. It still takes pride in calling Rochester, New York the base of their current operation. After its rapid expansion to many states outside New York it changed its name to Powers Great American Midways as not to regionalize the show to one specific area of the country.
Powers Great American Midways fields an arsenal of over 55 rides as well as food concessions and takes pride in being one of the highest rated carnival companies in the country by the OABA (Outdoor Amusement Business Association). The show has been honored with the OABA "Circle of Excellence" award which is based on equipment safety, cleanliness and appearance.
Les "Corky" Powers and his wife Deborah are pleased to have 2 of their four children working with them side by side running most of the day to day operations. Grandchildren and a total of sixteen family members are currently involved in the show in many capacities of the operation.
