Im Fort Fun und im Hollywood Park in Stukenbrock gibt es sie noch: Die Wirbelwind Achterbahnen aus dem Hause Vekoma. Während das Bobbejaanland seine Anlage Ende der 90er nach Amerika verkauft hat, hat man im Knoebel's Resort noch ein paar Jährchen gewartet, ehe man den Coaster auf Südtour schickt.
Die Anlage wurde laut rcdb.com nach Costa Rica verkauft und zieht demnächst im Parque de Diversiones in La Uruca ihre Runden.

The ride has been sold to Parque De Diversiones, a Costa Rican amusement park operated for the benefit of the Costa Rica Children’s National Hospital. The amusement park — the first of its kind in the country — employs 350 people, and all of its net proceeds go directly to the hospital.
The Whirlwind was purchased by Knoebels from Rye Playland in Rye, N.Y., and moved to Knoebels in 1993 as a replacement for the Jet Star roller coaster.
While at Rye, the ride had been featured in the movie “Big,” starring Tom Hanks.
Knoebels selected the Whirlwind because park visitors had expressed interest in a ride that turned them upside down.
“The Whirlwind has served us well for over 10 years, but it’s time to move on to new thrills and ride experiences,” resort President Dick Knoebel said.
A crew from Costa Rica arrived at Knoebels over the past weekend and has begun the process of dismantling and packing the ride for shipment. The Whirlwind could be completely dismantled by Christmas Day, but the work is weather dependent, a Knoebels representative said.
Two new rides have been purchased for the 2005 season, Knoebels said.
A giant pendulum ride with outward facing seats on a circular rotating platform has yet to be named.
A second ride, called Flying Tigers, will provide high-flying family fun as riders pilot colorful, miniature replicas of the famous Flying Tiger airplanes, according to the resort.

Laut rcdb.com wird die Anlage nun Bocaraca heißen.
